| Chronic
wrist pain after cap or and ligament injury |
The anatomy of the wrist and its movements have still not been fully
studied owing to its complexity. The most frequent cause of injuries
in this region is a fall on the hand, which can cause a wrist injury
as well as chronic pain from difficult to diagnose and small injuries.
The treatment
The ligamentous apparatus of the wrist or the carpus can be related,
the joint cap, the cartilage or even the so-called discus (Discus
articularis = disc from fibrocartilage rising up to the joint). After
carrying out some X-rays or MRI, diagnosis becomes clearer especially
through the wrist reflexion (1) (Arthroscopy). Some injuries can already
be treated anthroscopically (e.g. by smoothing the ligament and cartilage
or through surgery on the discus). More serious damage like complete
ligament tears must be reconstructed in another operation (2). |
