Mastectomy due to breast cancer is a painful loss for many women. However, today by using aesthetic plastic surgery, the breast can be restored without problem. Many patients go back extremely happy and with self-confidence. Depending on individual requirements, breast reconstruction involves two different methods:

Reconstruction with implants, tissue expanders or permanent expanders
If there is adequate covering skin, the breast is rebuilt with an implant. If there isn't much covering skin, then the skin needs to be stretched. The expander is best suited here (a kind of silicone case). It is inserted under the skin surgically and is filled with saline solution at intervals. Once the final volume has been obtained, the expander is replaced by an implant. There are also expanders that can remain in the body.

Breast reconstruction using your own tissue
In this method, we remove your own tissue from various locations. From the upper back, e.g. a part of the back muscle with skin can be removed to build a new breast with it. A transplant can also be removed from the lower abdomen area which is then connected to the appropriate vessel in the breast region through microsurgery. Various transplants or even a tattooing are suitable for reconstructing the nipple and areola.
