look into the future: The computer shows dream and reality |
With computer imaging, the patient sees a demo of the complete spectrum
of the results of a treatment directly on a large screen in the conference
room. What is special: What is shown is the patient himself, whose
face, nose, breast and stomach is being operated upon using the most
modern multimedia and computer technology "for preview".
The advanDays of computer imaging: Many unusual patient wishes can
be brought into accord with the technical and above all aesthetic
feasibility when the patient becomes spectator and can watch changes
being made to his own body, the effects of the operation he desires.
Computer imaging is a very good method to help the doctor and patient
come to an understanding to what "extent" the operation is to be realised
by the surgeon in reality.
Caution: The computer is obviously an ingenious tool to help plan,
explain and "set the scene" for making the changes to your body. Ultimately,
the skills and knowledge of the plastic surgeon will define the final
result. What the computer shows is not a promise, rather only a demonstration.
